Job summary

West Tennessee Healthcare in Jackson, TN is seeking an unlicensed nursing professional to provide patient care and assist with procedures under supervision. You will document care, update plans of care, and communicate important information to nursing leadership and other departments.

The role includes required hospital call-back and potential overtime as needed. Qualified candidates should have completed an accredited nursing program with transcripts, and obtain BLS within orientation.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited nursing program (ASN/BSN) and official transcript.
  • BLS certification to be obtained within orientation.
  • Authorized to test (ATT) required for practice.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and indirect patient care as assigned by the charge nurse/preceptor.
  • Document patient care and update the care plan in the medical record.
  • Communicate patient and unit information clearly to the RN, nurse manager, and other shifts.
  • Perform secondary assessments on patients in Med/Surg, Progressive Care, Post-Acute, and Skilled Nursing as directed.

Employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Performs direct and indirect patient care responsibilities as assigned by charge nurse and/or preceptor.Ensures patient safety.Documents delivery of patient care and other pertinent information in patients’ medical record and updates plan of care for assigned patients as necessary.Performs responsibilities as related to the safe disposal of hazardous pharmaceutical waste.Communicates information regarding patients and unit operations to RN, Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager, Director, and other shifts in a timely manner using proper lines of communication.Communicates effectively with other departments with personnel from other departments in the hospital using proper lines of communication.Performs and documents secondary assessment on patients in Med/Surg, Progressive Care, Post-Acute, and Skilled Nursing only.
