Job summary

West-Tennessee-Healthcare in Tennessee seeks a registered nurse to provide quality patient care on the assigned unit. You will use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, while guiding other nursing staff on your shift, and coordinating with physicians for rounds and treatment.

You will document care in the medical record, prioritize orders, supervise staff, and assist with discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Completion of a diploma, associate, or baccalaureate degree in nursing.
• Current RN licensure in Tennessee.
• BLS certification within orientation period; ACLS & PALS preferred; NRP within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial patient assessment using the nursing process.
• Plan, document, and update patient care needs in medical records.
• Coordinate bedside care and supervise nursing staff on shift.
• Administer or supervise medications, IV fluids, blood products.
• Inform physician of patient status and assist with rounds.
• Prioritize physician orders and ensure safe, compliant care.
• Communicate with patient/family and other departments for discharge planning.
• Ensure proper disposal of hazardous pharmaceutical waste.

Category:RNCity:DyersburgState:TennesseeShift:Job Description Summary:Under the general supervision of the Director and Clinical Manager, responsible for providing quality patient care using the nursing process, the direction of other nursing staff, and the operation of assigned unit on assigned shift as scheduled.
