The Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit is seeking to hire a Part-time Graduate Intern in Baldwin County. Under direct supervision, the Part-Time Intern will develop in-depth knowledge and practical skills within the assigned functional area. The position provides an opportunity to build initial professional expertise while applying academic and legal knowledge to small projects and assignments. The selected applicant will work closely with Attorneys, receive guidance and feedback, and may contribute input to department or program planning activities. Candidates must demonstrate professional and administrative support to the circuit located in Milledgeville, Georgia. To be considered for this position, applicants must possess a Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university.

Description of Duties:
  • Conducts legal, administrative, and policy-related research under the direction of the supervising attorney, judicial officer, or designated staff.
  • Assists with the preparation, organization, and review of legal documents, memoranda, reports, correspondence, and other materials.
  • Provides administrative and research support to the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit.
  • Assists with small projects and special assignments for review and approval by the supervisor.
  • Research applicable Georgia statutes, regulations, court rules, policies, and procedures as directed.
  • Assists in organizing and maintaining case-related, programmatic, and administrative information in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Supports judicial and county administrative functions as assigned.
  • Observes and develops an understanding of court operations, judicial procedures, county government functions, and public-sector administration.
  • Assists with preparing summaries, presentations, reports, and other materials for departmental or program use.
  • Participates in meetings, training opportunities, and professional development activities as appropriate.
  • May provide research, analysis, and input related to department, program, or operational planning.
  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises appropriate discretion when handling legal, judicial, personnel, or other sensitive information.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Serves at the pleasure of the Executive Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university AND currently enrolled in a graduate program relevant to the area of assignment.
