Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Graduate Civil/Geotechnical Engineer for our Midland, TX geotechnical team. You will assist with field investigations, laboratory testing, data review and reports for energy and industrial projects across Texas.

You will support geotechnical design for foundations, earth structures, embankments, and site development while coordinating field work and QA/QC. Some travel will be required, with growth opportunities at Tetra Tech.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (master’s a plus).
0-4 years of related experience demonstrating ability to perform essential duties.
Must have passed FE Exam or be eligible to apply for PE within four years.
Geotechnical software experience such as Geo Master, PLAXIS 3D, L-Pile, Geo-Slope, Seep/Slope or similar; training provided.
AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D knowledge a plus.
Willingness to travel; valid driver’s license in good standing.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate geotechnical fieldwork and supervise subcontractors in site investigations and testing.
Prepare geotechnical design recommendations for foundations, retaining structures, embankments, and site development.
Review and perform geotechnical laboratory testing and support operations.
Oversee construction monitoring and testing related to geotechnical work.
Develop work plans, reports and proposals for geotechnical projects.
Prepare HASP, excavation plans, and 811 notifications; perform other office tasks.
