Job summary

Stantec seeks a Graduate Geo-Environmental / Geo-Technical Engineer for our Birmingham office. You’ll join a multidisciplinary Environmental Services team, working on projects in renewables, defence, commercial and residential sectors.

The role blends fieldwork with office consultancy, with mentorship toward professional chartership and structured progression. You’ll contribute to site investigations, data analysis, and risk assessments while collaborating with Civils, Structural, and other

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology or related field accredited by a professional body (e.g., The Geological Society, ICE, IES, CIWEM).
  • Graduate programme with emphasis on geo-environmental and geotechnical engineering.
  • Structured progression toward chartership (CGeol, CEng, CSci, or CEnv).

Responsibilities

  • Designing, scoping, and managing site investigations, including on-site supervision and environmental sampling.
  • Analysing field data and authoring factual and interpretative reports.
  • Conducting geo-environmental and geotechnical risk assessments to support site development.
  • Providing expert geo advice across design, planning, and construction phases.
