Job summary

Graphcore is seeking a recent graduate or early-career engineer to join the BMC Engineering team as a Graduate Firmware Engineer in Austin, Texas. You will develop low-level and embedded firmware to support operation, control, monitoring, and validation of advanced compute systems, working with firmware, hardware, systems, and software engineers.

You will design and maintain system firmware in C/C++ or Python, own features from requirements to validation, and contribute to automated tests,

Qualifications

Degree in computer/electrical engineering or CS.
Strong C/C++ foundation; Python knowledge.
Understanding of computer architecture and embedded systems.
Familiar with Linux environments and command-line tools; version control.
Structured debugging experience.
Ability to translate requirements into tasks.
Clear written and verbal communication; team collaboration.
Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, test, and maintain system and embedded firmware in C, C++, or Python.
Own firmware features from requirements to validation and documentation.
Develop firmware in Linux-based environment with diagnostic tools.
Create automated tests to improve validation and coverage.
Contribute to CI/CD workflows for firmware.
Plan experiments, analyze data, communicate findings.
Assist lab setup and hardware bring-up.
Investigate root causes and implement fixes.
Collaborate across BMC, firmware, hardware, silicon, systems, software teams.
Write design notes, test procedures, change descriptions.
