Job summary

Halff invites a December 2026 Graduate Civil Engineer to join our Water Resources team in San Antonio, TX. You will support design and analysis for water resources projects and work with clients to deliver sustainable drainage and flood infrastructure solutions.

The candidate should have 0-3 years in water resources, a civil/environmental engineering degree, FE status or progress, and proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D. This role offers growth and ownership opportunities within Halff.

Qualifications

  • 0-3 years in water resources/public works. New grads encouraged to apply.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil/Environmental Engineering or ABET-equivalent.
  • Must have passed FE or plan to within six months of start date.
  • Texas EIT license or ability to obtain within 2 years.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk, AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ArcGIS Pro.
  • Familiarity with XP-SWMM, InfoWorks ICM.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, team-oriented and quality-focused.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.

Graduate Civil Engineer - Water Resources

Halff has an opening for a December 2026 Graduate Civil Engineer to join our Water Resources team in San Antonio, TX. The candidate must be able to successfully work on projects and work closely with our internal and external clients, perform flood risk education and planning, flood infrastructure planning, and design for private and public stormwater infrastructure. Halff is seeking a skilled professional to work in a highly collaborative environment to create cost-effective, maintainable, and sustainable solutions for municipalities, governmental agencies and developers. What You Will Do
  • Support project teams in the design and analysis of water resources design projects.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis.
  • Assist in the development of master drainage plans.
  • Prepare and review engineering documents and reports.
  • Prepare and review plans, specification and bid documents.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met.
What You Will Need
  • 0-3 years in water resources/public works. Resume projects should attempt to demonstrate experience in channels design, storm drain analysis and design, watershed modeling, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and master drainage planning. New grads are encouraged to apply.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree.
  • Must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or plan on obtaining within six months of start date.
  • Have a current Texas EIT license or the ability to obtain within 2 years of employment
  • Proficiency in Autodesk, AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ArcGIS Pro.
  • Familiarity with XP-SWMM, InfoWorks ICM.
  • Robust written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive attitude, self-directed yet a team player, with a focus on quality, integrity and success
  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
