Job summary

Halff is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer for Water Resources in Frisco, TX, to join our Water Resources team. New graduates graduating December 2026 or May 2027 will support design, modeling, and planning for public and private stormwater projects.

You will work on flood-risk education, master drainage planning, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver sustainable, cost-effective solutions. FE exam within six months of start date is required.

Qualifications

  • Zero to three years in water resources would be ideal; new grads encouraged to apply.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil/Environmental Engineering or ABET-accredited equivalent.
  • FE exam passed or planned within six months of start date.
  • Experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ArcGIS Pro.
  • Familiarity with XP-SWMM, InfoWorks ICM.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Graduate Civil Engineer - Water Resources

Halff is seeking New Graduates who will graduate in December 2026 or May 2027 for a Graduate Engineer I, Water Resources to join our Water Resources team in Frisco, TX. The candidate must be able to successfully work on projects and work closely with our internal and external clients, perform flood risk education and planning, flood infrastructure planning, and design for private and public stormwater infrastructure. Halff is seeking a skilled professional to work in a highly collaborative environment to create cost-effective, maintainable, and sustainable solutions for municipalities, governmental agencies and developers.

What You Will Do
  • Support project teams in the design and analysis of water resources design projects.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis.
  • Assist in the development of master drainage plans.
  • Prepare and review engineering documents and reports.
  • Prepare and review plans, specification and bid documents.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met.
What You Will Need
  • 0-3 years in water resources. Resume projects should attempt to demonstrate experience in channel design, storm drain analysis and design, watershed modeling, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, or master drainage planning. New grads are encouraged to apply.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree.
  • Must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or plan on obtaining within six months of start date.
  • Experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ArcGIS Pro.
  • Familiarity with XP-SWMM, InfoWorks ICM.
  • Robust written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive attitude, self-directed yet a team player, with a focus on quality, integrity and success
  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer
