Job summary

LJA Transportation seeks a Graduate Engineer to design, produce, and support feasibility studies, cost opinions, and construction plans using AutoCAD Civil3D, Bluebeam, and Office tools. You will work on diverse public and private projects with hands-on experience, mentored by senior engineers in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

The role emphasizes problem solving, field-to-office collaboration, and exposure to a broad client base.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree from ABET accredited university (Civil Engineering preferred).
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam, and Water Resources Software (HEC-RAS & HEC-HMS) desired.
• Passed the FE Exam and able to work in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with technical experts, peers, and support roles to perform design calculations and generate technical drawings.
• Expand your engineering toolbox with advanced techniques and industry concepts.
• Investigation of site conditions and constraints to inform design iterations.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Graduate Engineer at LJA Transportation, you will use AutoCAD Civil3D, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office and other design and production software to provide design, production, and project administrative support in the delivery of feasibilities, opinions of probable cost, studies, exhibits, construction plans, takeoffs, bid packages, models, and development support tasks for an extensive list of public and private clients. A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

• Collaborate with technical experts, peers, and support roles to perform design calculations, prepare equipment or material specifications, and generate technical drawings and exhibits
• Expanding your engineering toolbox and vocabulary to add knowledge of advanced techniques, applied theory, industry concepts, and best practices.
• Assignments require the investigation of a limited number of variables; supervisory assistance is provided on unusual problems and possible solutions.
• Working in an office equipped with meeting rooms, amenities, and excellent technology.
• Investigating existing site conditions, jurisdictional criteria, and constraints to inform design iterations and direction.
• Check-ins with your manager and other engineering mentors to identify areas of excellence and growth opportunities.
• Providing information or exhibits to inform client and internal leaders in decision making related to the execution or implementation of project objectives.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor of Science Degree from ABET accredited university (Civil Engineering Preferred)

IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE:

• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Previous work experience in the engineering industry
• Experience with Bluebeam and Water Resources Software (HEC-RAS & HEC-HMS)
• Passed the FE Exam
