Job summary

LJA is seeking a Graduate Engineer to join our Land Development team in an employee-owned environment. You will use AutoCAD Civil3D, Bluebeam, and other design tools to support feasibility studies, cost opinions, exhibits, construction plans, and development tasks for a broad client base.

The role emphasizes hands-on learning, collaboration with technical experts, and growth through mentoring. A BS in Civil Engineering and FE exam progress are valued as you contribute to varied civil projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree from ABET accredited university (Civil Engineering Preferred)
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam is desirable
  • Experience with Water Resources Software such as HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with technical experts, peers, and support roles to perform design calculations, prepare equipment or material specifications, and generate technical drawings and exhibits
  • Expand your engineering toolbox and vocabulary to add knowledge of advanced techniques, applied theory, industry concepts, and best practices.
  • Assignments require investigation of a limited number of variables; supervisory assistance provided on unusual problems and possible solutions.
  • Work in an office with meeting rooms, amenities, and excellent technology.
  • Investigate existing site conditions, jurisdictional criteria, and constraints to inform design iterations and direction.
  • Check-ins with your manager and mentors to identify growth opportunities.
  • Provide information or exhibits to inform client and internal leaders in decision making related to project objectives.

POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Graduate Engineer at LJA Land Development , you will use AutoCAD Civil3D, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office and other design and production software to provide design, production, and project administrative support in the delivery of feasibilities, opinions of probable cost, studies, exhibits, construction plans, takeoffs, bid packages, models, and development support tasks for an extensive list of public and private clients. A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

  • Collaborate with technical experts, peers, and support roles to perform design calculations, prepare equipment or material specifications, and generate technical drawings and exhibits

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree from ABET accredited university (Civil Engineering Preferred)

IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE:

  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Previous work experience in the engineering industry
  • Experience with Bluebeam and Water Resources Software (HEC-RAS & HEC-HMS)
  • Passed the FE Exam
  • Team Mentality
