Job summary

Halff seeks a Graduate Civil Engineer for its Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) & Utility Coordination (UC) group in Houston, TX. You will support design, investigation, and coordination across multiple utilities, with opportunities to prepare plans, exhibits, and reports using CAD tools.

You will complete FE, pursue Texas EIT within 2 years, and collaborate with project teams, clients, and stakeholders while growing your SUE/UC expertise in a thriving environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Passed FE exam or will within 6 months.
• Have a current Texas EIT license or the ability to obtain within 2 years of employment.
• Knowledge of MicroStation V8i and AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support SUE/UC projects through design, analysis, documentation, and coordination.
• Assist with subsurface utility investigation, mapping, utility conflict analysis, and relocation efforts.
• Prepare SUE plans, drawings, exhibits, calculations, and technical reports using CAD and other design software.
• Review survey data, maps, aerial imagery, drawings, and other project information to support engineering design and decision-making.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, surveyors, utility owners, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Assist with developing design specifications and construction cost estimates.
• Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Perform field observations and review construction activities for general conformance with plans and specifications.
• Support multiple projects while maintaining quality, accuracy, schedules, and project requirements.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Halff has an immediate opening for a Graduate Civil Engineer in our Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) & Utility Coordination (UC) group in our Houston, TX office.
