Have a degree in Civil Engineering or a similar engineering discipline? The City of San Marcos is hiring within our Engineering and Capital Improvements Department. This position manages capital improvement projects across various sectors, including water, wastewater, drainage, transportation, and airport enhancements. These efforts help develop the complex infrastructure of San Marcos, ensuring residents and visitors enjoy the city's amenities.

Job responsibilities may include:
If you hold your bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or a related field) from an ABET-accredited university, you may qualify for our Graduate Engineer I position, starting at $73,500/year.
If you also have your EIT certification for Texas (or have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam) and at least 2 years of experience, you may qualify for our Graduate Engineer II position, starting at $80,500/year.
Possessing your PE (or meeting all criteria for licensure) qualifies you for the Project Engineer position, starting at $90,000/year.
With your PE and 10 years of experience, you may be eligible for our Senior Engineer role, starting at $100,000/year.
