Job summary

Baxter & Woodman is seeking a Graduate Engineer I for our Austin, TX office. The role supports Project Managers with engineering design for water and wastewater projects and assists in preparing construction plans, calculations, and reports.

A Texas FE exam is required or must be transferable within six months. Ideal candidates will have a BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, be willing to travel, and demonstrate strong verbal, written, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam in Texas or be capable of passing/transferring within six months.
• Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman's service area.
• Strong verbal, computer, organizational and writing skills.
• BS degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers by providing engineering design support for water and wastewater projects.
• Assist with preparation of construction plans and specifications; perform design calculations; conduct research; draft reports and feasibility studies.
• Develop quantity takeoffs and cost estimates; evaluate municipal infrastructure systems; support permitting and regulatory compliance.
• Review contractor submittals to provide technical support during construction.
• Attend on-site meetings with field project representatives and contractors.

Compensation

The pay range for this role is 76000 to 81000 Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate including but not limited to skill set depth of experience and certifications
