Under guidance from graduate and professional engineers you will learn through a variety of duties, including design evaluation, field inspections, and cost estimates, building a strong foundation in civil and environmental engineering.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a 4-year degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0–4.0.
• Available to start May 2027.
• Ability to travel throughout Houston area and provide own transportation.
• Team environment and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assisting engineers with the evaluation, study and design of water and wastewater treatment plants, pipelines, and pumping stations.
• Assist with storm water pond management and inspection.
• Calculate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
• Perform site visits and field inspections.

Your Impact

Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for an engineering internship in our Houston or Katy TX office

This on the job experience will support the firms environmental and construction groups with the design and construction of a variety of water and wastewater facilities working directly with graduate and professional engineers

A variety of responsibilities and duties will provide a well rounded background in engineering

What your day to day will look like what you will learn on the job

• Assisting engineers with the evaluation study and design of water and wastewater treatment plants water and wastewater pipelines and pumping stations
• Assist with storm water pond management and inspection
• Calculate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
• Perform site visits and field inspections

Education Requirement

Ongoing pursuit of a 4 year degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering

Must haves what you will bring

• Maintain a minimum grade point average of 3040
• Available to start May 2027
• Ability to travel throughout Houston area own transportation
• Work in a team environment
• Strong written verbal computer and organizational skills

Compensation

The hourly pay for this role is 2300 Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate including but not limited to skill set depth of experience and certifications
