City of Austin's Austin Water seeks a Graduate Engineer A to support design and compliance efforts in water reuse programs. Under direct supervision of a Professional Engineer, you will perform routine assignments toward licensure as a professional engineer.
You will assist in preparing design drawings, developing proposals and design criteria, conducting field inspections, analyzing data, and preparing technical reports.

Graduate Engineer A Purpose: Under direct supervision of a Professional Engineer, use engineering knowledge to perform routine engineering projects/assignments requiring limited judgment within the defined methods, procedures, and practices for the application of standards and criteria necessary to fulfill the experience requirement for pursuant of a licensure as a professional engineer.

Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job.
Licenses and Certifications Required: None.
The Water Reuse Programs team conducts plan review and inspections of water reuse and water recycling systems to ensure the systems are both protective of public health and conserving the city’s drinking water supply. In addition, the team develops and implements new policies, pilot projects, and case studies to advance water reuse throughout the city with a goal of saving 16 million gallons of drinking water per day by 2040.

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with some flexibility. Other hours as required to meet the needs of 24/7 utility operations.

This position may be eligible for an Incentive Bonus of up to $3,000! $500 after 90 days. $500 after 180 days. $1,000 after 1 year. $1,000 after 2 years.
