Under limited supervision and with Professional Engineering review, this position uses engineering knowledge to independently perform a variety of moderately complex engineering projects/assignments that are routine in nature but that may require adaptation or modifications from standard practices. Individuals will be capable of exercising engineering judgment within defined methods, procedures, and practices.

Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a related field, plus two (2) years of experience in engineering.
Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification in the State of Texas, OR If certified in another state, must have the ability to obtain Texas EIT certification within six (6) months of employment.

Through the Renewing Austin program, Austin Water proactively replaces aging water and wastewater lines, prioritizing pipelines in neighborhoods based on break history and condition. Austin Water is a large and complex department of the City of Austin, with over 1,300 employees, and multiple facilities across a wide geographical area. Austin Water provides drinking water and wastewater services to over one million customers in the Austin area.
