Job summary

Brownsville Public Utilities Board is seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer to oversee the engineering, coordination, administration, and project management of electric utility projects including CIP and new developments. You will support design reviews, specifications, and procurement while ensuring compliance with codes and standards.

Responsibilities include supervising and guiding staff, coordinating with consultants and contractors, and maintaining documentation for CIP and developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from ABET-accredited program.
• Some electric utility engineering experience preferred.
• EIT certificate and Texas licensing considerations may apply.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all phases of engineering duties for electrical utility projects.
• Prepare and review designs, estimates, specifications, and procurement requests.
• Manage CIP and new development projects from start to finish with cross-department coordination.
• Perform pole loading analyses and upgrade designs for CIP/new developments.
