Job summary

ASR Group in Baltimore, MD invites entry-level Chemical Engineers to join the two-year Graduate Development Program. The program offers hands-on experience, mentorship from leaders and SMEs, and a clear path to future engineering leadership within our global refineries.

You will rotate through disciplines, complete lab work, review energy and water reports, and contribute to Continuous Improvement projects while developing technical and leadership capabilities critical for a manufacturing career.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical Engineering from an accredited college/university.
• 0–2 years of professional work experience (including internships and co-ops).
• Validated leadership experience through extra-curricular activities, employment and/or internship experiences is required.
• Strong academic record (3.0 GPA or better).

Responsibilities

• Develop multi-discipline proficiency during the program.
• Review technical reports (Energy/Water: daily, weekly, monthly).
• Perform basic lab tests with supervision; prepare daily technical report.
• Produce SIPOC diagram for department operations and locations.
• Participate in and lead Continuous Improvement projects.
• General electrical troubleshooting (starters, VFDs, soft starts & breakers).
• Perform Operational & Cost Studies.
• Perform tasks as an Area Supervisor.

Overview

The Graduate Development Program (GDP) is a two (2) year structured learning and development program for select new graduates who hired into the ASR Group Engineering team. An engineering career with ASR Group is a great way to apply what you have learned in the classroom. We offer hands on experience and the opportunity to build a foundation for your career. As part of the GDP, you will have access to support and mentorship from company leaders, technical subject matter experts, and former GDP participants who will all help guide you as you start your career with us.

We are looking for entry-level engineers in the following discipline: Chemical.

General Roles/Responsibilities

• Develop multi-discipline (chemical, mechanical, controls, industrial or electrical) proficiency during the program.
• Review technical reports (Daily, Weekly, Monthly Energy/Water).
• Perform basic lab tests with supervision of lab manager, prepare daily technical report with supervision.
• Produce SIPOC diagram for the department’s operations, key physical locations.
• Participate in and lead Continuous Improvement projects.
• General electrical troubleshooting & equipment (starters, VFD, Soft starts & breakers).
• Perform Operational & Cost Studies.
• Perform tasks as an Area Supervisor.

Essential Education Requirements

LOCATION:

• Baltimore, MD

SALARY PAY RANGE: $63,500 - $105,500 plus bonus

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.

Benefits include healthcare (medical, dental, vision, prescription drugs) available the first of the month following 30 days of employment, 401(k) with match, life insurance, AD&D, short-term disability, vacation, holiday and sick time.
