The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston's Regional & Community Outreach department is seeking a Graduate Intern to support its data analysis project, focusing on community development research and financial inclusion. Work includes literature reviews, data collection, cleaning, and building quantitative models.

You will contribute to geospatial analysis and interactive dashboards while developing skills in R/Python and Tableau in a hands-on internship setting in the Greater Boston area.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in economics, public policy, statistics, data science, or related field.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills with coursework in statistics and data analysis.
• Proficiency in at least one statistical software package (R, Python, or similar).
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau).
• Experience with data manipulation, cleaning, and analysis of large datasets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members to develop and evaluate options for enhancing existing data analysis and visualization
• Conduct literature reviews on relevant methodologies, data sources, and analytical approaches applicable to the project
• Assist with data collection, cleaning, and management from multiple publicly available surveys and datasets
• Support the development and implementation of quantitative models including statistical estimation techniques, forecasting models, and clustering
• Perform geospatial analysis to identify regional patterns and trends
• Create data visualizations and contribute to interactive dashboards
