Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore, CA is seeking an Academic Graduate Appointee to join the Laser Material Interaction Science Group. You will develop and test data acquisition, processing, and analysis software for advanced microscopy applications as part of a multidisciplinary team within the Materials Science Division.

This is a full-time, on-site role requiring NDAA eligibility and a post-offer drug test.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field required.
• Experience using Python for data acquisition, processing, and analysis software.
• Experience writing software for advanced optical microscopes with rigorous coding standards.
• Strong communication skills to interact with scientists and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain data acquisition, processing, and analysis software for advanced microscopes.
• Interface with biologists, chemists and physicists to add features and improve software.
• Document experiments, generate reports, and present progress to teams.
• Provide technical support to engineers and scientists in research projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
