Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) in Livermore, CA, invites applications for an Academic Graduate Appointee to develop and test data acquisition, processing, and analysis software for advanced microscopy. This full-time, on-site position is within the Laser Material Interaction Science Group of the Materials Science Division.

Qualifications

• Eligible to access the Laboratory in compliance with NDAA Section 3112.
• Experience writing software for advanced optical microscopes with rigorous coding standards.
• Experience using Python and data analysis in a research setting.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain data acquisition, processing, and analysis software for advanced microscopes.
• Interface with biologists, chemists, and physicists to add features and improve software.
• Maintain notebooks, organize data, and prepare progress reports for teams and supervisors.
• Provide technical support to engineers and scientists in R&D projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
