San Diego State University Research Foundation is seeking a Graduate I (Master's) to support NIWC BRSE programs in San Diego. The role runs 20 hours per week, requires a CS/CE/Cybersecurity graduate student with relevant coursework, and involves building and testing BRSE software for low-data-rate operations.

Eligible US citizens with ability to obtain DoD security clearance are preferred. This student position remains open until filled, located at NIWC PAC in San Diego, CA.

Qualifications

• Graduate Student: Bachelor's degree in the required discipline and enrollment in a Master's degree program.
• Must complete at least 50% of tasks without supervision.
• Area of study: CS, CE, or Cybersecurity; OS, Networking, Cybersecurity coursework; Python and Bash.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-installation verification and production security configuration for BRSE builds.
• Perform production baseline acceptance testing and data verification for low-data-rate performance.
• Configure forward error correction, compression, and delivery parameters in release builds.
• Improve the production software pipeline with automated static scans and container updates.
• Submit Monthly Status Reports and Bi-Weekly Time Reports.
