Job summary

ConocoPhillips is seeking a Commercial Analyst for the New Hire Development Program in Houston, TX. The program combines on-the-job and classroom training with up to 3 rotations, including roles like Risk Analyst, Crude Analyst, and Power Trader, designed to build marketing and trading expertise.

Rotations last 6–18 months with performance evaluations guiding progression into a permanent role. The site is in Houston, and sponsorship for U.S. employment is not available for this position.

Qualifications

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Senior or Graduate Student with expected graduation Fall 2026–Summer 2027.
• GPA 3.25 overall and in major preferred.
• Proficiency with VBA, Python, Power BI and Spotfire preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Understanding of how financial/quantitative indicators impact the business.

Responsibilities

• Provide market and business analysis to support strategy.
• Interface with customers and third parties.
• Deliver decision support to operations and management.
• Learn and develop new knowledge within the Commercial function.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of the Commercial organization.
• Interpret data and make actionable recommendations to the business.
