CrossRoad Engineers, PC is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to assist in construction inspection and the development of designs, drawings, and specifications for our projects. The role includes field work during the initial construction seasons and transitioning to design tasks.

You will work on civil design for roadway, grading, drainage, utility and site development projects, while gaining knowledge of local and state standards. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering is required.
  • 0–3 years of construction inspection or design experience preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation is recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Assist construction administration team on project management.
  • Participate in field inspection during initial construction seasons.
  • Contribute to civil design for roadways, drainage, and site development.
  • Assist in preparing construction documents, specs, and schedules.
  • Monitor compliance with design standards and safety regulations.
  • Gather data for feasibility studies and environmental assessments.
  • Develop cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with project team, agencies, and clients.

Description

CrossRoad Engineers, PC is looking to expand its team. We are looking for a Graduate Civil Engineer to assist in construction inspection and developing designs, drawings and specifications as they pertain to our projects.

Graduate Civil Engineer Responsibilities and Duties
  • Works with our construction administration team to manage construction projects. Each graduate engineer will typically complete a minimum of 2 initial, consecutive construction seasons working in the field in a construction inspection role before transitioning to a full- time design role.
  • Civil design in roadway, grading, drainage, utility and site development projects.
  • Determines project costs by calculating labor, material, and related costs.
  • Creates feasibility study by analyzing engineering design, conducting environmental impact studies, and assembling data.
  • Produces engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans, and schedules.
  • Confirms adherence to construction specifications and safety standards by monitoring project progress, inspecting construction site, and verifying calculations and placements.
  • Gain knowledge of local and state design standards and procedures.
  • Possess strong professional work ethic
  • Work independently or within a design team
  • Build excellent communication skills with project team, government agencies and clients
  • Possess positive attitude and strong leadership skills
  • Utilize time efficiently in completing tasks accurately, on schedule and within budget
  • Gain experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation software and MS office software
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • Degree Required: B.S. Civil Engineering
  • Experience in Construction Inspection OR Design of Civil Engineering Projects (0-3 years)
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation and similar engineering software recommended
