General Description:

The duties of the Graduate Assistant Soccer Coach will be to assist the head soccer coach in all areas of the soccer program's operations, including player development, training, and administrative tasks. The position is for the academic year, with room and tuition covered, potentially year-round.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist in player development and training.
2. Understand and communicate the game of soccer effectively.
3. Demonstrate understanding of soccer during training sessions and drills.
4. Run training sessions under the direction of the Head Coach.
5. Translate instructions from the Head Coach effectively during training.
6. Support training sessions and other team activities as needed.
7. Follow directions from the Head Coach and support their vision.
8. Maintain discipline as defined by the Head Coach.

Position Requirements:

Administrative Duties:

1. Maintain consistent office hours as agreed.
2. Keep accurate statistical data, including game and training stats.
3. Assist with equipment tracking and maintenance.
4. Ensure all games are video recorded and conduct review sessions.
5. Coordinate pre-game activities, including transportation and accommodations.
6. Handle game day setup and breakdown.
7. Assist with summer camp activities and promotions.
8. Participate in community service and fundraising activities.
9. Supervise and track attendance at Study Tables and extra study sessions.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to climb stairs, move freely on campus, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Speak and read English fluently, hear, and use a computer and phone effectively.
• Meet vehicle policy requirements.

Work Schedule:

Average of 25 hours/week, more during the season, less off-season. Summer work is optional with housing and classes continuing.
