Role Description

The Track & Field Graduate Intern role is an on-site internship based in Wichita, KS. The intern will support departmental initiatives, assist with project coordination, and contribute to student-focused programs that align with the university’s mission. Day-to-day responsibilities may include conducting research, preparing reports and presentations, helping organize events or workshops, and providing general administrative assistance. The intern will collaborate with faculty, staff, and other students, gaining practical experience in a professional academic environment. This role is designed to provide meaningful learning opportunities, mentoring, and exposure to university operations to support the intern’s graduate-level development.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a relevant graduate program, with an interest in higher education, student services, or a related field.


• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports, emails, and presentations.


• Organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.


• Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including collaboration, active listening, and a commitment to serving diverse student populations.


• Proficiency with common office software and digital tools (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, video conferencing platforms).

Compensation for this Graduate Assistant position will be a tuition remission plan along with possible housing plan options.
