Job summary

Concordia University Chicago invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant – Baseball. This on-site role is based in River Forest, IL, reporting to the Head Baseball Coach, and requires enrollment in a CUC graduate program.

You will assist with practices, film review, travel coordination, recruiting events, and game-day operations while supporting student-athletes academically and athletically within the LCMS-affiliated university community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and collegiate playing experience required.
• Coaching experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Docs; strong organizational and communication skills.

Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant – Baseball. This position reports directly to the Head Baseball Coach and is located in River Forest, IL.

Candidates must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a Concordia University Chicago graduate program.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Assist in the organization and implementation of team practices and training sessions
• Review film and complete statistical summaries of opponents
• Coordinate travel arrangements for players and staff
• Attend recruiting events, discuss player evaluations, communicate with prospects, schedule on-campus visits and maintain the program recruiting database
• Coordinate Game Days, which includes the following:
  • Set up, take down, and locker room assignments
  • Scoresheets, video footage and other conference requirements as needed
• Organize and attend home athletic events as a member of athletic administration and a game day manager
• Aid in academic monitoring to ensure student athletes are competitively approaching their academic curriculum
• Provide insights and assist with the branding of the program across the university and surrounding community
• Assist with all elements of program events including camps, fundraisers and community service opportunities
• Responsible to keeping an accurate inventory of all baseball equipment and uniforms
• Responsible for proper care of equipment and uniforms
• Support rostered student-athletes academically, athletically, and emotionally during the transition to CUC, as well as during their enrollment at CUC.
• Oversee the growth and development of student-athletes in the skills necessary for specific position(s) within the baseball program
• Develop practice strategies to improve the skill development of student-athletes
• All other duties as assigned by the Head Coach

Requirements:

• Proficient computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office, Google Docs, etc.)
• Excellent organization skills
• Strong communication skills in working with students, faculty and administration
• Bachelor's degree & collegiate playing experience required
• Coaching experienced preferred
