Job summary

Humana is seeking a Graduate Analytics Intern to work at the intersection of data, analytics, and healthcare innovation. You will contribute to teams across Network Adequacy, Reliability, Quality and Cost Strategy Analytics, and more, gaining exposure to Humana’s data-driven approach to improving quality, affordability, and member outcomes.

The 12-week program is primarily based at Humana’s headquarters in Louisville, KY, with on-site opportunities in Arlington, VA; Chicago, IL; Ft.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science or a related field with an expected graduation date between 2027 and 2028.
• Must be a current full-time graduate student with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and Summer 2028.
• Must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week, on-site for the full 12-week internship from May 24, 2027, through August 13, 2027.
• Must be willing to work in office 3-4 days per week at Humana’s headquarters in Louisville, KY, or hub locations in Arlington, VA; Chicago, IL; Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Nashville, TN; or New York, NY.
• Must not require sponsorship to work in the United States now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Develop analytical frameworks and solutions addressing healthcare business challenges and measurable outcomes.
• Perform exploratory data analysis, statistical modeling, and insight generation across healthcare domains.
• Combine diverse data sources to identify actionable insights about members, care experiences, utilization, and outcomes.
• Develop predictive and prescriptive models supporting acquisition, retention, engagement, quality improvement, and wellbeing.
• Apply ML, NLP, and large language model techniques to support responsible analytics use cases.
• Support development of tools to identify and reduce biased language in healthcare documentation using responsible AI.
• Create clear data visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings to partners and leadership.
• Translate complex analytical results into practical recommendations for strategic decisions and operational improvements.
