Pay Range Information
Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate ofthe compensation range for this position. This range takes intoaccount a variety of factors that are considered in makingcompensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge,abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and otherbusiness and organizational needs. Salary offers are determinedbased on the final candidate’s qualifications and experience, aswell as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipatedpay range is not a promise of a particular wage.

Job Description Summary
Under the direction of the Dean and Director of Dodge Admission, the Graduate Admission Specialist participates in the entiregraduate admissions process for Dodge College of Film and MediaArts ( DCFMA ). This position will support the creation andimplementation of recruitment strategies for our graduate programsand participate in graduate recruitment events for Dodge Collegegraduate programs. This includes recruitment of domestic andinternational students. Other duties include application updates,coordinating processes for reading and reviewing applications,maintaining and analyzing reports, communicating regularly with ourgraduate admission office, and updating program and admissioninformation on the website. Perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Admission and Recruitment Duties
- Work with the Director of Dodge College Admission in thedevelopment and implementation of recruitment plans and strategiesthat align with the Dean’s goals.
- Recommend and develop new approaches to attracting the most competitive candidates to the university and advise on the recruitment of talented students.
- Manage the application review process: allocate files to faculty, track reviewers’ progress, provide training andtroubleshooting assistance as needed.
- Assist with the review of applicant files.
- Manage applicant interview process for all graduate programs including faculty interview schedules and tours.
- Collect and analyze recruitment and admissions data, presenting it to the Director of Admission and Deans.
- Oversee and manage the admitted student outreach and communications efforts including graduate visit opportunities.
- Coordinate and participate in off-campus recruiting events(domestic and international) including college fairs, workshops,panels, and assist with creating travel budgets.
- Some travel and weekend work hours are required for recruitmentevents.
- Schedule meetings with prospective students to provideinformation regarding our programs, application process andprocedures.
- Research and evaluate the demographic and academic characteristics of similar graduate film programs, to create an annual recruitment outreach plan and develop a market analysis.
- Collaborate with Director of Dodge College Admission andDirector of Communications to create a strategic marketing plan toachieve recruitment goals.
- Serve as a liaison to Graduate Admissions Office includingattending monthly meetings and weekly communication.
- Manage special projects assigned by Director of Admission
Admission Office and Daily Operations
- Manage all email, phone calls, and walk-ins regarding graduateadmission.
- Supervise graduate admission student staff includingrecruiting, hiring, training, and scheduling.
- Oversee the graduate team’s proper usage of communicationssoftware "Unibuddy".
- Coordinate and schedule in-person and virtual graduate toursfor Dodge College.
- Assist with the daily opening and closing duties for DodgeAdmission Center.
- Support the team in all Dodge College recruitment events,including undergraduate admission events.
- As needed, assist with the application review process forundergraduate admission including reviewing files and conductinginterviews.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education andexperience.
- A minimum of 2 – 3 years’ experience in admissions,recruitment, or related field.
- Proven ability to handle simultaneous deadlines, communicateeffectively and maintain a positive composure
- Excellent written & oral communications skills.
- Strong organizational skills to coordinate work from variousdepartments and ensure accuracy and completeness.

- Strong technical skills to learn and use Chapman’s enterpriseapplications.
