Job summary

Talley Construction, a CRH Company, seeks an experienced construction project manager to oversee heavy civil projects across Chattanooga, North Georgia, and Northeast Alabama. The role focuses on planning, costing, scheduling, and coordination with owners, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Responsibilities include reading plans, processing submittals, cost forecasting, scheduling with Microsoft Project, and managing change orders and billing.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in heavy civil construction project management (sitework, grading, sewer, storm water, and water main projects).
• Associate’s degree preferred (Civil, Engineering, or Construction Management).
• Experience estimating and bidding on DOT projects preferred.
• Mandatory experience in project management and estimating.
• Knowledge of take-off software (Agtek Software Plus) preferred.
• Knowledge of estimating software (HCSS HeavyBid Software Plus) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret civil and architectural plans.
• Process submittals and shop drawings.
• Perform job costing and financial analysis (short‑ and long‑term forecasting).
• Prepare construction schedules (experience with Microsoft Project preferred).
• Compile and submit monthly billings and invoicing.
• Process change orders and subcontractor billing.
• Track material shipments.
• Attend weekly meetings with owners, subcontractors, vendors, and Talley personnel.
• Act as liaison between jobsite superintendent and office staff.
• Analyze bid documents, plans, blueprints, and specifications to understand projects.
• Solicit and manage subcontractor and vendor quotes.
• Monitor and analyze costs versus bids during construction.
