Job summary

Talley Construction, a CRH Company, is seeking a project management professional for heavy civil construction. The role includes reading civil and architectural plans, processing submittals, and performing job costing and forecasting in a field setting.

You will prepare schedules, manage monthly billings, and coordinate changes with subcontractors while supporting site and office staff. Travel to job sites will be required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in heavy civil construction project management including sitework, grading, sewer, storm water and water main projects.
  • Associates degree preferred in Civil, Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Experience in estimator bidding on DOT projects is a plus.
  • Experience in project management with estimating is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret civil and architectural plans and specifications.
  • Process submittals and shop drawings.
  • Perform job costing and short/long-term forecasting.
  • Prepare construction schedules, preferably using Microsoft Project.
  • Prepare and submit monthly billings and invoicing; process change orders.
  • Coordinate subcontractor billing and change orders; track material shipments.
  • Attend weekly meetings with owners, subs, vendors and Talley personnel.
  • Serve as liaison between jobsite superintendent and office staff.
  • Analyze bid documents and quotes; manage subcontractor/vendor bidding.

Duties will include:


  • The ability to read plans (Both Civil and Architectural)

  • The ability to process submittals and shop drawings

  • The ability to perform job costing and analysis (both short term and long-term forecasting)

  • The ability to prepare construction time schedule (Prefer experience in Microsoft Project)

  • Prepare and submit monthly billings and invoicing

  • Process change orders

  • Process subcontractor billing and change orders

  • Ordering and tracking of material shipments

  • Attend weekly meetings with owners, subs, vendors and Talley personnel

  • Liaison between jobsite superintendent and office staff

  • Analyze bid documents, plans, blueprints and specs to gain a thorough understanding of the project

  • Solicit and manage subcontractor and vendor quotes

  • Monitor and analyze costs versus bid during construction phase

  • Willingness to be flexible in duties and have a \"get-it-done\" attitude

  • Must pass post offer drug screen

  • Must provide proof of eligibility to legally work in the US.

  • All new hires will be processed through E - Verify

  • Some travel may be required

  • This position will require work in the field


Experience:


  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Heavy Civil Construction project management including sitework, grading, sewer, storm water and water main projects

  • Minimum Associates Degree preferred (Civil, Engineering, or Construction Management)

  • Experience in estimator bidding on D.O.T. projects preferred

  • Experience in Project Management required with experience in estimating a plus

  • Knowledge of Take-Off software preferred (Agtek Software Plus experience a plus)

  • Knowledge of Estimating Software preferred (HCSS Heavybid Software Plus experience a plus)
