Job summary

CRH Texas Materials is seeking a capable manager to supervise grading crews in the Central Texas region. This role involves coordinating, planning, and directing finish grade operations and related excavation tasks on active job sites.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of finish/fine grade experience, understands project plans, and holds a valid driver’s license. Travel to Austin and surrounding areas is required; safety and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in finish or fine grade operation.
• Knowledge of surveying and exposure to GPS/robotics.
• Able to read and understand project plans and specifications.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel around Austin and Central Texas.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating, planning, and supervising grading crews to ensure that work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Operating equipment to perform rough grade, finish grade, slope work and other excavating operations.
• Inspect equipment prior to use and at the end of the shift.
• Inform the Superintendent of all construction needs promptly to avoid delays.
• Complete all paperwork in a timely manner.
• Inspect all grading work throughout the construction process to ensure it meets specifications.
• Ability to operate other types of equipment (preferred).
• Regular and timely attendance.
• Motor grader experience (preferred).
• Frontline safety responsibilities and management for the crew and the jobsite.

Position Overview

This is a management position requiring the employee to supervise and coordinate the activities of the grading crew.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

• Coordinating, planning, and supervising grading crews to ensure that work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Operating equipment to perform rough grade, finish grade, slope work and other excavating operations.
• Inspect equipment prior to use and at the end of the shift.
• Inform the Superintendent of all construction needs (material, equipment, and staffing) promptly to avoid delays.
• Complete all paperwork in a timely manner.
• Inspect all grading work throughout the construction process to ensure it meets specifications.
• Ability to operate other types of equipment (preferred).
• Regular and timely attendance.
• Motor grader experience (preferred).
• Frontline safety responsibilities and management for the crew and the jobsite.

• Knowledge of surveying and exposure to technical survey systems such as GPS and robotics.
• Oversee grading crews.
• Travel around Austin and Central Texas area.
• Ability to understand grade stakes.
• Must be a reliable and trustworthy individual who will be a team player.
• Must maintain good attendance and safety record.
• Capability to read and understand project plans and specifications.
• Must be productive during each shift and be willing to meet the goals that are set.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Travel may be required.
