Job summary

Blythe Development seeks a Grading Foreman to lead field operations for a heavy civil grading crew, reporting to the Superintendent and performing hands-on trade work as needed.

You will supervise excavation, grading, and related sitework, ensure safety and quality, read plans, track hours and materials, and adapt to changing schedules, locations and shifts on diverse projects.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of SCDOT, commercial, and/or residential grading experience.
• At least 3 years of supervisory or crew-lead experience.
• Experience operating relevant heavy equipment.
• Strong knowledge of excavation, grading, plans, specifications, safety, and quality control.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry more than 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to work changing schedules, locations, and shifts.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate excavation, grading, and related sitework activities
• Operate heavy equipment and oversee safe, productive equipment operation on project sites
• Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications

About the Role

The Grading Foreman leads field operations for a heavy civil grading crew while also performing hands-on trade work. This role reports to the Superintendent and oversees excavation, grading, heavy-equipment operations, production, quality, and job-site safety. We welcome applications from established crews, including operators and laborers.
