Job summary

Sherwood Construction seeks a Grading Foreman to supervise and coordinate a grading crew on varying heavy civil construction projects in the Tulsa area. You will lead safety-first operations, read specifications, inspect work, coordinate with other crews, and train team members to ensure high-quality grade work and on-time progress on site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have a clean driving record.
• 5 years of quality experience in heavy civil construction grading.
• 2-3 years experience in managing and leading a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example that safety is the number one priority.
• Supervises and coordinates activities of work crews engaged in grading of a job site.
• Ensure efficiency and quality work relating to grading.
• Supervise, coordinate and schedule activities with other crews and contractors on a project.
• Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements and procedure planning.
• Inspect work progress, equipment or construction sites to verify safety, quality and specifications are met.
• Locate, measure and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment.
• Coordinate work activities with other construction project activities.
• Confer with superintendent or technical personnel, other departments or contractors to resolve problems or to coordinate activities.
• Assist workers engaged in construction activities, using hand tools or other equipment.
• Train and develop crew members as deemed necessary.
• Maintain good customer relations by acting in a professional and courteous manner.
• Ability to proficiently operate excavator, front bucket loaders, fork lift and skid steer.
• Other duties as assigned
