CMES, Inc. is seeking an experienced Grading Foreman to lead grading crews on highway and roadway construction projects in Georgia.

You will coordinate daily field operations, supervise crews, and ensure work meets project plans, quality standards, and safety requirements. The role requires 5+ years in heavy civil grading, strong plan-reading skills, and the ability to manage multiple crews and subcontractors.

Qualifikationen

  • Ensure equipment operators and laborers receive proper instruction and training before performing assigned work independently.
  • Coordinate and monitor subcontractor activities on assigned job sites.
  • Maintain accurate crew timecards and daily field documentation.
  • Assist with or conduct jobsite safety meetings as required.
  • Support traffic control and erosion-control requirements on assigned projects.
  • Monitor materials, tools, and supplies to ensure crews have what is needed to maintain production.
  • Maintain positive and professional working relationships with employees, subcontractors, customers, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Project Management team.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Grading Foreman to lead grading crews on highway and roadway construction projects. This position is responsible for coordinating daily field operations, supervising crews, maintaining production and quality standards, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans and specifications.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of relevant heavy civil construction experience, preferably involving roadway/highway grading.
  • Previous experience as a Grading Foreman, Grade Foreman, Leadman, field leadership position preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising grading crews, equipment operators, and laborers.
  • DOT roadway infrastructure project experience preferred.
Communication & Leadership
  • Ability to provide clear direction and effectively communicate expectations to field crews.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with Superintendents, Project Managers, subcontractors, inspectors, and other project personnel.
  • Ability to read and understand project instructions, plans, specifications, correspondence, and safety requirements.
  • Ability to document field activities and communicate project concerns in a timely manner.

Work Environment

This position is primarily performed in an active heavy civil roadway construction environment.

Employees may be exposed to moving construction equipment, traffic, dust, uneven terrain, varying weather conditions, and moderate to high noise levels. The Grading Foreman is expected to follow all company, project, and regulatory safety requirements while working on or around active construction operations.
