Job summary

Talley Construction, a CRH Company, is seeking a Grading and Utilities Assistant Project Manager to join our team in the Georgia/Chattanooga region. The role requires 2–4 years in heavy civil construction, with preference for sewer, storm water, and water main project experience.

Associates degree in Civil/Engineering/Construction Management is preferred. You will read plans, manage submittals, analyze costs, prepare schedules (MS Project), and handle monthly billings and change orders while

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in heavy civil construction.
• Prefer 1–3 years working with sewer, storm water and water main projects.
• Associates degree preferred (civil, engineering, or construction management).
• Experience bidding on DOT projects is a plus.
• Knowledge of take-off software (Agtek) and estimating software (HCSS Heavybid) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read plans (Civil and Architectural) and interpret drawings.
• Process submittals and shop drawings.
• Perform job costing and forecasting (short and long term).
• Prepare construction time schedule (prefer Microsoft Project).
• Prepare and submit monthly billings and invoicing.
• Process change orders and subcontractor billing.
• Order and track material shipments; attend weekly meetings with owners, subs, vendors, and Talley personnel.
• Liaise between jobsite superintendent and office staff; maintain a flexible, get-it-done attitude.

Duties will include:

• The ability to read plans (Both Civil and Architectural)
• The ability to process submittals and shop drawings
• The ability to perform job costing and analysis (both short term and long-term forecasting)
• The ability to prepare construction time schedule (Prefer experience in Microsoft Project)
• Prepare and submit monthly billings and invoicing
• Process change orders
• Process subcontractor billing and change orders
• Ordering and tracking of material shipments including
• Attend weekly meetings with owners, subs, vendors and Talley personnel
• Liaison between jobsite superintendent and office staff
• Willingness to be flexible in duties and have a “get-it-done” attitude

Experience:

• 2-4 years’ experience in Heavy Civil Construction
• Prefer 1-3 years of working with sewer, storm water and water main projects
• Associates Degree preferred (Civil, Engineering, or Construction Management)
• Experience in estimator bidding on D.O.T. projects preferred
• Knowledge of Take-Off software (Agtek Software Plus experience a plus)
• Knowledge of Estimating Software (HCSS Heavybid Software Plus experience a plus)
