Higgins Hamilton has secured an exciting new contract — the Waikato District Council northern road maintenance and renewals contract. Due to this, our team is growing, and we are seeking an experienced Road Maintenance Grader Operator to join the Green Team now, with project kick-off in July 2025.

Description

Based in Te Kauwhata, the contract covers North Waikato from Huntly to Pōkeno and includes maintenance of a network of approximately 1200km of sealed and unsealed roads, including rural and coastal areas.

What You’ll Bring To The Role

• Proven experience operating a grader on civil construction projects, with knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in road maintenance (sealed/unsealed)
• Experience operating other heavy machinery such as diggers, rollers, watercarts is highly desirable
• Appropriate licences (Class 2 + WTR)
• Willingness to be hands-on and support your team with various construction tasks
• Strong focus on health and safety for yourself, colleagues, and the public
