Placements24 in Welkom, South Africa is seeking a compassionate Grade R Teacher to join our client’s early childhood team. The role focuses on nurturing literacy, numeracy, and life skills through play-based learning while supporting social development in 5–6 year olds.

You will plan daily activities, observe progress, and collaborate with parents and colleagues to create an inclusive classroom that emphasises safety and curiosity.

Formación

• ECD or Foundation Phase teaching qualification required.
• Experience with Grade R learners.
• Strong understanding of child development principles.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Patience, creativity, enthusiasm, and a nurturing disposition.
• Ability to plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons.
• SACE registration required; First Aid certification advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and implement a play-based curriculum for Grade R learners, focusing on foundational literacy, numeracy, and life skills.
• Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes exploration and learning.
• Plan and execute daily activities, including circle time, arts and crafts, music, movement, and outdoor play.
• Observe and assess children's development, maintaining accurate records and providing feedback to parents.
• Foster children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with parents regarding their child's progress and well-being.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support school-wide initiatives.
• Ensure the classroom is well-organized, resourced, and adheres to safety standards.
• Encourage positive social interactions and conflict resolution among children.
