Job summary

Caton Construction Group in Hickory, NC is seeking a Grade Foreman for our roadway project in Catawba County. This field role leads a grading crew to perform mass earthwork and excavating activities safely and efficiently under the supervision of the Superintendent.

Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, coordinating tasks, managing materials and equipment, ensuring quality and safety standards, and reporting progress to management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as construction foreman.
• Diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter etc.) a plus.

• Report on progress to managers, engineers etc.

Caton Construction Group is growing! Currently seeking a Grade Foreman for our roadway construction project in Catawba County, North Carolina (Hickory).

Summary/Objective

The Grade Foreman is a field position that is responsible to organize and lead a crew to safely and efficiently perform mass earthwork and excavating activities, balancing highway and road construction/reconstruction. The Foreperson works under the general direction of the Superintendent.

Essential Functions

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with time provided for lunch, hours may vary. Work may be local or out of town in which case overnight stays are required. This position frequently requires long hours and weekend work.

Travel/ Driving

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. Driver's license is required.

Supervisory Responsibility

Assigning work to subordinates, as well as establishing deadlines and modifying work schedules to meet deadlines as needed

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as construction foreman
• diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter etc.) a plus.
