Job summary

F. Clayton Plecker and Sons, Inc. is hiring a Grade Foreman to supervise grading and sitework crews on construction projects.

You will read plans, establish elevations, direct earthmoving operations, and coordinate heavy equipment to ensure safe, accurate, and timely completion of grading work. This full-time role requires at least 2+ years of grading/excavation experience, a valid driver’s license (CDL a plus), and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• 2+ years operating heavy equipment (grading experience preferred).
• Valid driver’s license; CDL a plus.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Reliable, safety-minded, and willing to work outdoors year-round.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of grading and sitework crews.
• Read and interpret construction plans, grading plans, elevations, and specifications.
• Establish and maintain proper grades and elevations throughout the project.
• Direct excavation, earthmoving, backfilling, compaction, and fine grading operations.
• Coordinate the use of bulldozers, excavators, motor graders, loaders, compactors, and other heavy equipment.
• Ensure work is performed according to project plans, specifications, and established schedules.
• Monitor jobsite conditions and identify potential grading or drainage issues.
• Communicate daily work plans and expectations to crew members.
• Coordinate with project superintendents, project managers, subcontractors, inspectors, and other trades.
• Monitor crew productivity and equipment usage.
• Enforce company safety policies and maintain a safe, organized jobsite.
• Perform daily inspections of work areas and report project progress or concerns to management.
• Assist with training and developing crew members.
• Perform other duties as required to support successful completion of projects.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Grade Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating grading and sitework operations on construction projects. This position leads field crews, operates and oversees heavy equipment, and ensures grading work is completed safely, accurately, efficiently, and according to project plans and specifications.
