The Learning Lamp & Ignite Education Solutions is seeking a Long Term Grade 6 Substitute Teacher for the Greater Johnstown School District in Johnstown, PA. Work follows district school calendars with pay at $150 per day.

Hours are district-based, offering a collaborative environment with professional development and benefits when applicable. This role requires a bachelor’s degree and all necessary clearances for the safety of students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Must pass required clearances and training (mandated reporter, physical, TB test).
• Ability to quickly establish rapport with students.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with school policies and procedures.
• Flexibility and adaptability to different teaching assignments.
• Completed background check and clearance.
• Capacity for sitting, standing, walking and bending for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Classroom Management: Implement lesson plans and materials; maintain a positive, inclusive environment.
• Instructional Delivery: Deliver lessons per the established curriculum.
• Student Engagement: Foster engagement and participation in activities.
• Supervision: Supervise students during class time and transitions.
• Communication: Communicate with students, staff and administrators; provide daily feedback.
• Follow Policies and Procedures: Adhere to district policies and emergency procedures.
• Professionalism: Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality.
• Flexibility: Be adaptable to different grade levels and environments.
• Classroom Materials: Use materials as per lesson plans and leave rooms organized.
