Job summary

Virginia Beach City Public Schools is seeking a full-time teacher to plan and provide engaging learning experiences under the direction of the principal. You will create a supportive environment that fosters intellectual, physical, social, and emotional growth, supervise students, monitor outcomes, and communicate effectively with families and staff.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Education and be eligible for a Virginia teaching license.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of VBCPS curriculum and teaching methods.
• Ability to integrate technology into instruction.
• Excellent oral and written communication; strong human relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan a program of study that meets student needs, interests, and abilities.
• Regularly meet and instruct assigned classes at designated times and locations.
• Create a classroom environment that engages students and helps them achieve objectives.
• Provide instructional programs to meet diverse student needs.
• Prepare for classes and show evidence of prep when asked by supervisor.
• Establish objectives and communicate them to students for lessons and units.
• Plan and use instructional methods and resources to motivate learning.
• Maintain safety and protect students, equipment, and facilities.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and policy.
• Collaborate with administration on policies and classroom management.
• Be available to students and parents outside instructional hours as needed.
• Foster positive relationships with colleagues, students, and community.
