Responsibilities include:

  1. Meeting and instructing assigned classes at designated times and locations.
  2. Planning a curriculum that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
  3. Creating a conducive learning environment appropriate to student maturity and interests.
  4. Guiding learning toward district curriculum goals, establishing clear objectives for lessons and projects.
  5. Preparing for classes and providing evidence of preparation upon request.
  6. Employing diverse instructional techniques and media suitable to the physical and individual needs of students.
  7. Implementing district educational philosophy, goals, and performance expectations.
  8. Assessing student progress regularly, providing reports, and communicating with parents as needed.
  9. Maintaining accurate records as required by law and district policies.
  10. Diagnosing learning challenges and seeking district specialist assistance when necessary.
  11. Taking precautions to ensure safety and protect students, equipment, and facilities.
  12. Following the district's code of conduct, developing and enforcing classroom rules fairly.
  13. Planning and supervising paraprofessional assignments and conducting evaluations.
  14. Engaging in ongoing professional development to meet district and personal growth goals.
  15. Participating in teacher evaluation processes and district meetings to promote communication.
  16. Attending school-sponsored activities and contributing to district decisions on budget, facilities, and curriculum.
  17. Maintaining and improving professional competence.
