Qualifications

• MA Educator License for teachers of students with disabilities (MOD/SEV) is required.
• Experience as a teacher of students with disabilities, preferably Autism Spectrum Disorder, in a substantially separate setting.
• Knowledge of Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and MCAS/MCAS Alternate is expected.
• Knowledge and experience with Applied Behavioral Analysis and Discrete Trial Instruction.
• Willingness to pursue advanced special education training as directed by leadership.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates a solid understanding of the curriculum and aligns instruction accordingly.
• Frames curriculum around key standards to allow students with disabilities to demonstrate reasoning and analysis.
• Plans instruction and assessments for students with disabilities and monitors understanding.
• Manages the classroom to create a positive learning environment.
• Delivers instruction using diverse teaching strategies and appropriate technologies.
• Promotes high standards, equity, and collaboration with parents and staff.
