Meeting Street in Providence, RI seeks an Elementary Teacher for Grade 2 on a full-time basis to nurture learning and development for children of all abilities. The role involves curriculum development, progress reporting, and collaboration with specialists to implement inclusive education strategies.

The position requires a bachelor’s or master’s in general education and special education, RI DOE certification, CPR/First Aid, and at least one year of inclusive teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in general education and special education or the ability to obtain.
• RIDE Certification in general education and special education.
• A minimum of one year’s teaching experience, with prior experience working with children with and without disabilities, is preferred in an inclusive environment.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsabilités

• Assists in developing and revising a standards-based curriculum for active learning.
• Develops lesson plans, progress reports, and inputs for IEPs within timelines.
• Implements curricula with fidelity.
• Creates a stimulating and motivating learning environment for students.
• Designs and implements academic and social goals for all students.
• Facilitates interactions among children for emotional, social and cognitive growth.
• Collaborates with educators and specialists to plan and teach inclusive curriculum.
• Maintains data records on student progress for accurate evaluations and progress reports.
• Collaborates with staff to implement an inclusive educational/therapy classroom model.
