Job summary

Providence Public Schools is seeking an exceptional ELEMENTARY GRADE 2 ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL) TEACHER who is highly qualified and skilled to join our community of teachers, students and stakeholders. This one-year position starts immediately with potential placement in SY27-28.

The ESL Teacher will plan and deliver ESL instruction, accelerate multilingual learners’ access to content, use data to guide instruction, and collaborate with families and staff to support student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited college or university.
• RI certifications: Elementary Education KG-6 and ESL PK-12.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver ESL instruction aligned to grade level standards.
• Provide scaffolds for multilingual learners to access grade level content.
• Instruct and monitor learners using technology to differentiate instruction.
• Establish clear objectives and provide feedback on assignments.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate with families.
• Collaborate with department, school, district and parent meetings.
