Position Summary

Walbec Group is seeking an Operator to operate a Gradall Excavator and other construction equipment safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Gradall Excavator and other equipment such as skid steers, backhoes, front-end loaders, dozers, graders, and compactors.
• Read and understand grade stakes, automated machine control cab displays, and other operational data.
• Use equipment to accomplish tasks involving grade, slope, yield, etc., as required by assignment.
• Maneuver machinery in tight quarters, around people, traffic, and utilities safely.
• Clean, maintain, and secure all equipment at the end of use.
• Follow safety and incident reporting procedures.
• Assist with equipment repairs as needed.
• Labor on the job site when not operating equipment.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Class A CDL strongly desired.
• Experience operating heavy construction equipment, including the Gradall.
• Ability to read and interpret grade stakes, cab displays, and other operational indicators.
• Must be able to maneuver machinery in tight quarters, around people, traffic, and utilities.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Punctual and dependable.
• Willingness to work varied hours, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and in variable weather conditions.
• Willingness to work in dirty, dusty environments.
• Union membership required or willingness to become a member; support for joining the local Operators Union.
• Successfully pass or having passed the Operators Union aptitude test when required.
