Job summary

Bolt Graphics, Inc. in Sunnyvale, CA, is seeking a highly experienced GPU Standards Developer to design, implement, and optimize a high-performance host-side driver stack for our RISC-V GPU architecture.

The role spans junior to senior levels and emphasizes API layering on top of our proprietary core. You will work with Vulkan, OpenGL, OpenCL, and SYCL, contribute to Mesa, collaborate with the GPUDriver team, and engage with Khronos standards groups to shape extensions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Industry experience with graphics and compute development.
  • Deep understanding of modern GPU APIs such as Vulkan, Metal, DirectX, CUDA and SYCL.
  • Extensive experience developing GPU graphics and compute applications and writing shaders.
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming.
  • Experience with code analysis, IR (LLVM, MLIR, ISPC), and LLVM and GCC internals.
  • Demonstrated ability to ship high-quality production software.
  • Experience with technical leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to open-source initiatives such as Mesa.
  • Coordinate with the GPUDriver team to implement functionality for industry-standard APIs.
  • Participate in Khronos and other industry standards groups to develop extensions.
  • Run testsuites such as Khronos CTS to evaluate conformance to standards.
  • Develop a toolchain for development, optimization, and debugging.

About the role:

We’re looking for a highly experienced GPU Standards Developer. You will focus on the design, development, implementation, and toolchain of a high-performance host-side driver stack layering industry standard graphics and compute APIs on top of our proprietary API for our RISC-V GPU architecture.

We are looking to fill a range of Junior to Senior roles.

What you’ll do:

  • Focus on the development of a high-performance host-side driver stack layering industry standard graphics and compute APIs such as Vulkan, OpenGL, OpenCL, & SYCL on top of our proprietary API for our RISC-V GPU architecture
  • Use and contribute to open-source initiatives such as Mesa
  • Coordinate with the GPUDriverteam to implement functionality required by industry standardAPIs within our proprietary GPU driver
  • Participate in Khronos and other industry standards groups to develop standards extensions that benefit our GPU
  • Run testsuites such as Khronos CTS to evaluate our conformance to industry standards
  • Develop a toolchain for development, optimization, and debugging

Qualifications:

Compensation Range: $175,000–$250,000 per year (California). This range represents the anticipated base pay for this role; the final offer may vary based on qualifications, experience, and location.
