Job summary

Apple Inc. in Cupertino, CA is seeking a GPU Image Processing Framework Software Engineer to join the Camera and Photos team and help develop next‑generation GPU‑based imaging technologies for mobile and desktop platforms.

The role emphasizes performance optimization and machine‑learning integration. You will collaborate across teams to design efficient pipelines, implement optimized code paths, and advance imaging capabilities across iOS and macOS, including Portrait Mode, Stage Light, iMovie

Qualifications

Proficiency in GPU programming.
Experience or coursework in performance programming and systems programming; concurrency and memory-constrained programming knowledge is a plus.
Experience or coursework in image processing programming.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with teams across and beyond the company to develop new algorithms for future initiatives in computational photography, identify key use cases for performance maximization, analyze performance of image processing pipelines, identify bottlenecks and opportunities for performance improvements, design and extend efficient processing pipelines, and implement optimized code paths for the best results.
