Job summary

Turner Mining Group is seeking an experienced GPS Dozer Operator / Team Lead in Front Royal, VA. This direct placement role involves leading field crews from the cab, operating CAT dozers, and ensuring mass earthwork is completed on time and on grade.

You will set up and verify Trimble GPS site models, manage daily logs, and coordinate with the Project Lead to optimize production while maintaining strict safety standards on busy job sites.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of heavy dozer operation experience, civil earthwork preferred.
• 2+ years using Trimble GPS-guided systems and grade layout.
• 2+ years leading site crews and managing daily field workflows.
• Valid Driver's License; OSHA 10 certification (OSH A30 preferred) or willingness to obtain.
• Familiarity with HeavyJob or electronic daily project logging tools.
• Versatility across CAT dozers (D3–D8) and basic support iron.

Responsibilities

• Operate CAT dozers for mass excavation, fine grading, and site setup.
• Set up Trimble GPS base stations/rovers and verify grade layouts.
• Lead site crews, delegate tasks, and report progress to the Project Lead.
• Maintain daily equipment logs and track production, hours, and delays.
• Provide support with skid steers, rollers, and track loaders as needed.
• Lead toolbox talks and enforce safety protocols on active earthwork zones.
